FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you charge for your services?
We believe great financial guidance starts with trust and transparency. There are no commissions or hidden fees — just clear and straightforward options. Depending on your needs, we’re compensated either through a Comprehensive Retirement Counseling engagement or an ongoing fee based on the assets we manage together. We’ll walk you through both approaches and make sure you feel completely comfortable before we get started.

Where is my money held?
We work with LPL Financial as the custodian of our clients assets.

What type of people do you work with?
We work with people who’ve built a solid financial foundation, usually with portfolios of $500,000 or more. You’ve done a great job saving, and now you want a partner to help you make the most of what you’ve built—whether that’s planning for retirement or making sure your family is supported if something happens down the road. We're here to guide you every step of the way.

Do you only work with pre and post-retirees?
No—we’re happy to help anyone if the relationship is a good fit. While much of our work focuses on guiding people approaching or enjoying retirement, we also partner with clients in other stages of life who value thoughtful planning, clear communication, and a long-term relationship built on trust.

Do you have a physical office? How do meetings work?
Desmond Wealth Group is based locally and operates from a private home office. We intentionally designed our firm to be flexible — meeting clients virtually, or locally where they’re most comfortable.
By avoiding a traditional office space, we’re able to spend more time on planning, communication, and proactive guidance — not overhead. Whether you’re nearby or across the country, our goal is the same: to provide a thoughtful, personal experience built around your needs.

How often will we meet or connect?
Life changes, and your plan should too. At a minimum, we'll typically schedule discussions twice a year—but we’re always available via phone or email for questions or quick updates whenever something new comes up. The goal is to keep your plan aligned with your life, not just your numbers.
